Private Shuttle from SJD Airport to Chileno Bay Resort

Chileno Bay is one of three certified Blue Flag beaches in Los Cabos and one of the very few protected coves on the Baja peninsula where ocean swimming is genuinely safe most days of the year. The bay is protected by a natural reef that flattens the surf, making it the go-to snorkeling and family-swim location in Cabo. The resort sits directly on the bay's southwest curve, with 32 acres of grounds, three pools, three on-site restaurants, and a destination spa.

Chileno Bay is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. The resort opened in 2017 and has rapidly become one of the most-booked properties for honeymoons, family vacations, and small destination weddings in Cabo.

Your chauffeur exits SJD Airport onto Mexico Federal Highway 1 and continues west along the Tourist Corridor. Chileno Bay is at kilometer 14.5, on the ocean side of the highway between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas — closer to Cabo San Lucas than to San José. The total distance from terminal to lobby is 18 miles (29 km), and the drive takes 25 minutes in normal traffic.

There are no toll roads on the Tourist Corridor route itself, but our published rate to Chileno Bay includes all applicable tolls in case your itinerary requires an alternative route or includes a stop at the SJD downtown area on the way (which we offer at no extra charge).

For wedding parties, anniversary trips, or arrivals with multiple flights landing close together, we coordinate multi-vehicle caravans to Chileno Bay from SJD. The resort has a clearly marked private entrance off Highway 1, with a guarded gatehouse where your driver presents your reservation. The lobby drop-off is covered and bell-staff is on hand 24 hours.

The published $85 USD rate is for a Cadillac Escalade or Chevrolet Suburban with up to 6 passengers. The same route in a Mercedes Sprinter (7-14 passengers) is $115 USD, and in a Toyota Hiace (12-15 passengers) is $129 USD. All vehicles are late-model, climate-controlled, and stocked with bottled water on every run. Child car seats are available free of charge — mention it at booking.

Every published rate includes: the vehicle, your bilingual chauffeur, real-time flight tracking, all applicable tolls, the 16% Mexican IVA tax, and the standard driver gratuity. There are no separate airport fees, no fuel surcharges, and no peak-season pricing. December 26 costs the same as a quiet Tuesday in September.

Optional add-ons: a grocery stop at La Comer or Costco (free of charge, adds 20-30 minutes), a pre-stocked cooler of Pacifico beer or sparkling water (flat $25 USD), or champagne service for special arrivals (48-hour notice required). Anything you ask for at booking is locked in writing before the transfer.

Chileno Beach is open to the public year-round, but the resort's pool deck, restaurants, and beach club are reserved for hotel guests. If you are staying at Chileno Bay, you have direct access from the resort to the swimmable cove — a major advantage over hotels on the Pacific side of Cabo.

November through May is high season at Chileno Bay. For arrivals during this window, book your private airport transfer at least 7 days ahead — last-minute private SUV availability tightens significantly during Christmas, New Year, and the spring-break weeks.

On your departure run, allow 3 hours from the resort to SJD check-in for international flights. The Tourist Corridor traffic can spike unpredictably during late-morning checkout hours (10:00-11:00 AM). We monitor this in real time and recommend a pickup time based on your flight.
